Sliding sash windows

Sliding sash windows are common in Georgian style properties and can be manufactured with spiral balances or the more traditional weight & pulley balanced within a box frame (hence the phrase “box sash windows”).

It is more common that this type of window is paint finish and therefore are usually manufactured in double vacuum treated Scandinavian Redwood or an easily painted hardwood such as Sapele or Utile.
